What we do to help the environment
- We are FSC® Chain of Custody certified (FSC® C115556) and audited annually by BMTrada. This ensures that the FSC® materials we use and the products we sell have been checked at every stage of processing, so our customers purchasing products sold with FSC® claims can be confident that they are genuinely FSC® certified.
- We are a proud member of the Woodland Carbon Scheme. Woodland Carbon is an accredited, award-winning carbon removal scheme that is operated under the Government’s Woodland Carbon Code. Organisations looking to reduce their environmental impact and mitigate their carbon emissions can fund tree planting with the Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity.
- We use vegetable inks on our presses and run totally alcohol free; we believe we are the only company in Scotland currently doing this. Vegetable ink produces no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) during use or clean up as a harsh solvent is not needed to clean our printing presses, unlike a petroleum-based ink.
- Our investment in a Mabeg reel sheeter allows us to buy bulk paper on reels by the tonne providing a more cost-effective solution than sheets and reducing paper waste by 15% per annum as it can be cut to the exact size required.
- Innovatively we use waste printed boards to generate some of our packaging, and you will often find our unique Triangular packaging safely delivering your posters and large format items. The printing plates arrive interlaced with sheets of crisp white paper which we repurpose for packing.
- Our factory is powered by 100% Renewable Electricity which results in zero carbon emissions. We are supplied by Npower's REGO-backed Business Energy product which meets stringent carbon reporting requirements – as set by the World Resource Institute (WRI) in their Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 2 Guidance 2015. Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates for the equivalent electricity volume consumed. These certificates are issued for every megawatt-hour of renewable generation fed into the grid.
